FDA Recall Update: April 2024
Here are the food & beverage, pet product, and drug/medical device recalls by the US Food & Drug Administration.

There were 28 recalls in April, which is up from March’s 21, in part due to the animal product recalls and a few more food and beverage recalls.
Out of the 28 recalled products, 19 were in food and beverage including a recall expansion, 3 were animal products, and 6 were in the drug/medical device category.
Food & Beverage
Out of 19 recalls in the food and beverage category, 9 were due to undeclared allergens:
Lidl US Deluxe Macarons Party Edition – undeclared wheat, soy, egg, milk, tree nuts (almonds, pistachios, and coconut).
Abdallah Candies, Sea Salt Almond Alligators – undeclared almonds
Belgian Yummies, SOFRA, and Ria Ice Cream Sandwiches – undeclared wheat, soy, egg, coconut &/or peanuts, FD&C Yellow #5
Baron Spices Inc., Blues Hog Seasoning – potential or undeclared soy and wheat
Oregon Spice Co., Johnny’s Parmesan Garlic Seasoning – undeclared sesame
Home Style Foods Inc., Kowalski Simply Sides Jack’s Potato Salad – undeclared egg
Gracie’s Kitchens, King Kullen Broccoli Cutlets – undeclared sesame and wheat
Feel Good Foods Cream Cheese Stuffed Mini Bagels – potential or undeclared gluten
Roly Poly Bakery Multigrain Bread – undeclared egg
2 recalls were due to inclusion of yellow oleander:
World Green Nutrition Inc. ELV Control Herbal Supplement (expansion of January 2024 recall)
Global Mix Inc.’s Eva Nutrition, Science of Alpha, Niwali, NWL Nutra – labeled as Tejocote Root but is yellow oleander
1 recall was due to not providing enough nutrition:
Sammy’s Milk Goat Milk Toddler Formula – doesn’t provide sufficient nutrition when used as an infant formula
1 recall was due to packaging imperfection:
Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil – the glass jar is prone to breakage, causing product to spill.
2 products were recalled due to potential of Salmonella contamination:
Infinite Herbs and Melissa’s Fresh Organic Basil
1 other recall was due to potential of Listeria monocytogenes contamination:
TAMA Corp., PAISA Queso de Mano PAISA
1 product was recalled for the potential presence of metal fragments
H-E-B Creamy Creations ice cream
1 recall was for the potential of E. coli
Gibson Farms California Shelled Walnuts, Organic Light Halves and Pieces
1 recall was due to product tainting:
ForeverMen Natural Energy Boost – product is tainted with sildenafil and tadalafil
Animal Products
3 animal/veterinary feed products were recalled:
ADM Animal Nutrition, Multiple Brand Names of Chicken Feed, Swine Feed, Cattle Feed, Horse Feed – specific lots may contain elevated levels of calcium, phosphorus magnesium, sodium and/or chloride and may harm the animals.
ADM Animal Nutrition Pen Pals, MaxLean, ShowTec, Moorman’s Chicken Swine and Rabbit Feed – specific lots may contain elevated levels of magnesium, sodium, calcium and/or phosphorus.
Cargill, Nutrena Country Feeds Meat bird 22% Crumble (RV) – product doesn’t include Vitamin D
Drug/Medical Devices
6 recalls were in the drug/medical device category:
AvKARE LLC, AVpak Atovaquone Oral Suspension, USP 750mg/5mL – potential Bacillus cereus contamination
Aruba Aloe Hand Sanitizer Gel and Alcoholada Gel – product contains methanol
Honeywell Safety Products USA, Fendall 2000 Non0Sterile Eyewash Cartridge – non-compliance with current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) requirements
Medline and Centurion Convenience kits – potential for a lack of sterility
Dr. Reddy’s Sapropterin Dihydrochloride Powder for Oral Solution 100 mg – decreased potency
Stop Clopez Corp., Schwinnng Herbal Dietary Supplement – product is tainted with Nortadalafil
