This fan is for accelerated temperature applications, typically ovens, kilns, and dryers. Named Design 70, the new plug fan is recommended for installations where hot airstreams need to be circulated or exhausted at temperatures up to 1000°F. Since the larger oven systems require more capacity, the Design 70 catalogues wheel sizes to 60 in., capable of moving 156,000 cfm. The newly engineered wheels have solid, single surface airfoil blades that provide high efficiencies with lower horsepower requirements. Because these higher capacity systems require larger motors, the plug fan is built with a heavy-gauge motor base and continuously welded stiffeners that accommodate mounted motors to 125 hp. Alternate high temperature construction is available to 1300°F for certain applications. Also available are insulated plug panels to 8-in. thick, integral inlet cone assembly to assure correct wheel to cone alignment, housings to direct air flow, shaft seals and coolers, safety guards, and AMCA type B and AMCA type C spark-resistant construction.
