Ending the year, December saw 69 new projects and November had 74. This year starts off under those numbers, with more projects as renovations or expansions on leased buildings.

Industrial SalesLeads has unveiled its January 2025 report on planned capital project spending in the Food & Beverage industry. The company specializes in tracking industrial capital projects across North America, including facility expansions, new plant construction, plant closures, and major equipment upgrades.

There are 62 new projects in the Food and Beverage sector. They include 37 processing facilities and 26 distribution centers and industrial warehouses.

SalesLeads found three food and beverage projects with an estimated value of $100 million or more. The largest project is by Agristo, who is planning to invest $450 million for the construction of a processing facility in Grand Forks, ND. They are currently seeking approval for the project. Construction is expected to start in 2025, with completion slated for 2028.

Top 10 Tracked Food & Beverage Projects

TEXAS

Bakery product manufacturer Bridor USA is planning to invest $410 million in the construction of a 450,000-sq.-ft processing facility in Lancaster. Construction will occur in 3 phases, with completion of phase 1 slated for 2030.

KENTUCKY

Clark Beverage Group, a beverage distributor, is planning to invest $129 million in the construction of a 300,000-sq.-ft distribution center and office facility in Bowling Green.

NORTH DAKOTA

Riverview Farms, a dairy farm, is planning to invest $90 million for the construction of a processing facility in Wahpeton.

OHIO

Warehouse club grocery chain BJ’s Wholesale Club is planning for the construction of a 500,000-sq.-ft distribution center in Commercial Point. Completion is slated for early 2027.

NEW YORK

LesserEvil, a snack food manufacturer, is planning for the renovation and equipment upgrades on a recently leased 303,000-sq.-ft warehouse facility in Brewster.

NORTH CAROLINA

Carolina Beverage Group is planning for the renovation and equipment upgrades on a recently leased 387,000-sq.-ft warehouse space in Mooresville.

CALIFORNIA

Craft brewery Lagunitas is planning for the renovation and equipment upgrades on a recently leased 189,000-sq.-ft production and warehouse facility in Oakland.

ONTARIO

A food product retailer is planning to invest $30 million in the renovation and equipment upgrades on a 65,000-sq.-ft processing facility at 10 Aeropark Blvd. in Hamilton.

INDIANA

A grain processing company is planning to invest $20 million in construction of a warehouse and storage facility in Rockport, IN. Construction is expected to start in early 2025.

ALABAMA

Meat processing company Maximus Meats is planning an $11 million investment in construction of a 29,000 sf processing facility in Summerdale.
