International adhesives firm Bostik held a ceremony on Oct. 11 to mark the inauguration of its new adhesives plant in Gujarat, India that will produce advanced hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives (HMPSA), a company press release announced.

“We are very pleased to expand our presence in India and enhance our ability to serve customers in a market with significant growth potential,” the chief executive of Bostik, Vincent Legros, said at the ceremony, a company release said. “Geographic expansion and investment in lead technology platforms such as the hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives (HMPSA) manufactured here are central elements of our growth strategy.”

Bostik, the specialty adhesives arm of Arkema, said it installed state-of-the-art equipment at the site and will employ recent manufacturing techniques that improve safety, quality, and efficiency.

The site will produce HMPSA and other products for the industrial and construction sectors in India and export markets.
