The Prater-Sterling CLM Series of classifier mills is a combination of two stages of closed-circuit grinding and air classification in one unit. This particular mill outperforms single-stage mills when handling difficult-to-grind products and those products requiring a narrow particle distribution. Materials that are difficult to grind and those that require a finer grind and/or a narrower particle distribution curve than is practical to produce in a fine grinder often require the unique capabilities of the CLM classifier mill. Oversized particles that are larger than specified are rejected by the classifier and are directed to a separate part of the grinding rotor where they are reground and then reclassified.
