Projects in the North American food & beverage sector slinked down by just a few since November.

Research group SalesLeads revealed 69 new projects, which include facility expansions, new plant construction, renovations/equipment modernization projects, and plant closings. November had 74, which was higher than August through October.

Of the new projects, 41 were processing facilities and 34 were distribution and industrial warehouses. Here is the breakdown of new projects according to type:

There were 5 projects in December with an estimated value of $100 million or more, according to SalesLeads research. The largest was Schreiber Foods, which will invest $211 million to construct a 168,000-sq.-ft processing facility in Carthage, MO. Construction is expected to start in early 2025, with completion slated for 2027.

Top 10 Tracked Food & Beverage Projects

NORTH DAKOTA

Vegetable processing company Cavendish Farms plans to invest $150 million in an expansion and equipment upgrades to its potato processing facility in Jamestown. They are currently seeking approval for the project. Construction is expected to start in spring 2025.

OHIO

Givaudan Flavors Corp. plans to invest $130 million in the construction of a 100,000-sq.-ft processing facility in Reading. The company is currently seeking approval for the project. Construction is expected to start in 2025. They will relocate a portion of their operations upon completion in 2027.

SOUTH CAROLINA

Cardiff Products, a beverage manufacturer, plans to invest $100 million in the construction of a processing and warehouse facility in West Columbia.

TENNESSEE

Foodservice distributor Performance Food Group is planning to invest $33.2 million in the expansion and equipment upgrades on its processing and warehouse facility in Morristown. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

PENNSYLVANIA

Hydroponic greenhouse farming company BrightFarms plans to construct a 1.5 million-sq.-ft growing and processing facility with four greenhouses in East Allen Township.

DELAWARE

PepsiCo will invest $62M in a renovation with equipment upgrades on a 359,000-sq.-ft warehouse in Claymont.

MISSOURI

Convenience store chain Circle K is planning for the renovation and equipment upgrades to a recently leased 266,000 sf distribution center in Hazelwood. Completion is slated for late 2025.

OHIO

CALIFORNIA

Freemont Ranch Winery, a startup, plans on construction of a 62,000-sq.-ft production and storage facility in Sonoma. They are currently seeking approval for the project.

NEW YORK 

Kraft Heinz is planning for a renovation and equipment upgrades on its processing facility in Lowville. They are currently seeking approval for the project.
